Arrival in Lavagna, a renowned seaside resort, overlooking the Gulf of Tigullio, with a millenary history, starting as far back as Roman times. During ten centuries, art, architecture, and religion have left indelible and wonderful marks. Today, churches, palaces, and historical residences represent a treasure trove that is available to visitors to admire the artistic beauty of the city.
Hotel accommodation, dinner, and overnight stay
Breakfast at the hotel and departure to visit the 5 Terre. An intense, unforgettable day discovering one of the most enchanting landscapes in the world, small villages suspended between the sea and the land, raised by sheer cliffs, surrounded by hills and vineyards. Arriving in La Spezia, we will board the boat that will take us to Portovenere, you will fall in love with it just like Byron and Shelley, like Dante and Petrarch and numerous other writers and poets who made it their second home. We continue by boat to Riomaggiore with its beautiful church of San. Giovanni Batista and a very colorful and picturesque marina. We then reach Vernazza, considered to be one of the most charming towns, which offers a beautiful atmosphere as we stroll through its alleyways, and finally, Monterosso, the largest town in the 5 Terre, consisting of the new and old parts. Lunch in Monterosso. Return to La Spezia by train from where we will take the bus back to the hotel.
Dinner and overnight stay.
Breakfast at the hotel and departure for the evocative visit of the Tigullio Gulf. On reaching Rapallo, meet your guide and depart by boat to San Fruttuoso. Visit to the Abbey, a Benedictine Monastery dating back to the year one thousand, immersed in a unique setting amidst the land, woods, and blue sea of eastern Liguria.
We take the boat back to Portofino. Lunch in a restaurant. Early afternoon visit to Portofino with its famous Piazzetta, the Church of San Giorgio and Divo Martino, the lighthouse, and the Brown Castle.
By boat back to Rapallo, return to the hotel, dinner, and overnight stay.
Breakfast at the hotel and departure to visit Genoa. Meet with the guide and visit the historical centre: the Cathedral of San Lorenzo through the intricate but fascinating labyrinth of the caruggi. From there we will penetrate into the heart of the city: Piazza De Ferrari, with its superb fountain, the Opera House, and the elegant Art Nouveau building of the Stock Exchange, not forgetting the imposing Palazzo Ducale and the Academy of Fine Arts. The Strada Nuova (today Via Garibaldi), is the prestigious UNESCO Heritage site where we admire splendid palaces built in the 16th century, the golden age of the ancient Republic. Lunch in a restaurant and in the afternoon a free visit to the wonderful Aquarium, the largest in Europe! We will immerse ourselves in a world of emotions, walking among dolphins, sharks, and hundreds of other species that inhabit the planet’s seas.
Return to the hotel in the evening, dinner and overnight. stay.
