Sardinia cuisine is better tasted in the open air, or inside the traditional shepherds huts. Lunch with the shepherds presents a rare opportunity to discover the genuine flavours of this antique land. Inside the huts, the shepherds prepare open air lunches with typical flavours of cold meats, cheeses, casserole of mutton with potatoes, roast piglet and traditional breads, eaten in the shadow of junipers and holm trees, and accompanied by a full bodied local wine – Cannonau, a grape with intense colour and flavour.
The day will start with a visit to the characteristic murals of Orgosolo, followed by the lunch in the mountains. In the afternoon the shepherds will perform traditional songs in the unique Sardinian language.
