At the foot of the largest volcano in Europe, in one of the most beautiful parts of Sicily, between the mountains and the sea, is the EtnoHistoric Museum of Costumes and Customs of the people of Etna.
Founded in the mid 1990s the museum intended to collate and represent the heritage of the local population, who had to live and function in a practical marriage with a live volcano. The houses and the local people have been influenced by the nature of the volcano in every aspect of their lives, so much so that they became known as Etnians. The museum recreates the daily lives of the Etnians, their homes, their work and their customs.
It will be possible to visit a farm, see their most important crops and produce and also see how they work with lava.
